What technical settings do I need for my child to participate in live courses?
For all film-related courses, students need access to:
-Laptop, PC, or Mac computer (it is strongly recommended not to join the live sessions on a tablet, iPad, or smartphone)
-Video recording device (smartphone, tablet, camera)
-Video editing software:
CapCut (free)
iMovie (free)
Adobe Premiere Pro ($20.99 per month)
In our live courses, the focus will be on CapCut and Adobe Premiere Pro
-Beneficial but not necessarily needed: Tripod, external microphones, soft boxes
For the podcast course all students need access to:
-Laptop, PC or Mac computer (joining from and working on a tablet, iPad or smart phone limits the experience)
-Audio recording device (smart phone, tablet, camera, computer)
-Free account with Anchor.fm
For the Mars station course all students need access to:
-Laptop, PC or Mac computer (joining from and working on a tablet, iPad or smart phone limits the experience)
On which platform will the live courses take place?
All live courses will take place using the video conference platform Zoom.
How long is one live session?
One live sessions run for 60 minutes. In between sessions students can always email the facilitator for additional help and support.
How many students are in one course?
The group size is limited to 6-8 students per live session. This way I can pay attention to all students’ needs and respond to their requests.
My child is very shy. Can my child leave their camera turned off during live sessions?
I encourage all students to participate with their cameras on in the live sessions. But I do understand if a student feels more comfortable with the camera being off. It would be very much appreciated if the parents inform me about this prior to the sessions.
My child wants to try the Effects and Silent Film course but has no experience in filmmaking. Can my child still join these courses?
Students with no or little experience in filmmaking and video editing are advised to join the Cre8 Your First Film course first to get an understanding of the basics.
